REAM 2024 took place from September 3 to 5 in Medellín, Colombia, in an edition that highlighted the importance of technology and global connectivity in the development of the rendering sector and the agri-food industry.

With simultaneous streaming translations, holographic badges with QR codes, data analytics, and BI contact lists, REAM was a truly unique event. It began on September 3 with a welcome cocktail at the iconic El Castillo Museum in Medellín. On September 4 and 5, business meetings at the Plaza Mayor Convention Center enabled live deal-making, with tangible results that participants took home.

REAM by the numbers

This edition featured 31 exhibitors/sponsors, more than doubling the previous event in Cartagena. Additionally, Medellín hosted 48 business stands dedicated to networking and deal-making among participating companies.

With its evident impact, REAM not only maintained its relevance but experienced a significant leap compared to the previous year. With 483 participants from 222 companies across 20 countries, the event saw a 70% increase in attendance and 52% more companies.

Participating countries included Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

A standout conference program

The agenda was packed with valuable content focused on artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making using BI systems.

Renowned experts such as Charles Starkey (NARA), Decio Coutinho (ABRA), Matthias Adam (Saria), and Felipe Hurtado (AgriGlobal Market) were among the eight speakers who shared insights on global trends in animal recycling, technological innovation, sustainability strategies, and emerging market opportunities.

One of the highlights of the 2024 edition was the 'REAM Talks', where sponsors had 20 minutes in dedicated rooms to present their products and innovations. These parallel sessions enriched attendees' knowledge and sparked strategic discussions on the latest industry trends.

REAM 2024 also featured a strong focus on the Pet Food sector, with one of the most respected consultants in the Americas, Mr. Miguel Ángel Lopez, delivering an in-depth presentation titled Pet Food Trends: Building Nutrition for Our Pets.

What to expect in 2025

The Meeting of the Americas (REAM) continues its mission to connect the Americas with the world. The next edition will take place in September 2025 in Guadalajara, Mexico—a city known for its economic and cultural significance. The event promises to be as memorable as previous editions, starting with a welcome cocktail at an authentic Mexican ranch, the perfect setting to break the ice and foster business connections.

REAM 2025 will unfold at the iconic Hard Rock Hotel in Guadalajara, offering a vibrant atmosphere ideal for creating new commercial relationships in a space full of innovation and opportunity.
